12TH AFRICAN GAMES: NIGERIA, CAMEROON LOCK HORNS IN FINALS

The Falconets of Nigeria will face archrivals Cameroon in the finals of the women’s football event at the 12th All African Games holding in Morocco on Thursday.

The Falconets got to the final by thrashing Algeria 3-0 in the semi-finals to end her 12-year wait for a spot in the finals of the competition. In the same vein, Cameroon came from behind to beat hosts Morocco 3-1 to reach the finals and fight for supremacy against the Nigerians.

Nigeria’s Falconets were eliminated at the semi-final stage of the competition 4 years ago in Congo, while the Cameroonians have won the competition twice in the past, but failing to reach the final stage since 2007 after their last win in Algiers.
