Commonwealth champion Tobi Amusan finished in third place in the 100m Hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League on Thursday.
The 22-year-old came in well short of her season’s best 12.73-second mark, which she achieved in Doha four weeks ago. However, her time of 12.85 seconds was enough to secure a podium finish, behind world record holder Kendra Harrison and Sharika Nelvis (who ran a season’s best 12.69 seconds), both of the USA.
Amusan overcame a slow start out of the blocks to power through over the final third, getting in ahead of Germany’s Cindy Roleder. European champion Elvira Herman could only come in fifth.
Amusan, ranked seventh in the world in Women’s 100m Hurdles, has had an impressive start to the season, but is still well off her 2107 best.
