Egyptian midfielder and Arsenal of England star Mohamed Elneny have come under the ax and Arsenal. He is part of a major clear out taking place at the club. The player has who signed 3 years ago from FC Basel made 17 appearances for the gunners in all competitions with only 8 coming in the EPL. Gunner’s manager Unai Emery met with the player a while ago and told him that he could leave the club to help his career grow better.
In an interview, Emery said he had spoken to Elneny alongside German stalwart Shkodran Mustafi during the pre-season to try and get other clubs for themselves as there were not a part of his plans for the new season. “I spoke with them a lot of time last year and in this pre-season. I think it is positive for them to leave and to sign for another club where they can be the protagonist, they can be happy and they can continue in their career as very big players. They are very big players”, the Spanish gaffer said.
While speaking he said he respects the player and he still trains with the rest of the team and they understand the situation and all that he can do is to wish them all the best.
The coach says there has been a lot of interest from in several clubs of lately but the 27 years old player is now close sign along with the Turkish football club Besiktas.
More news claims that the club would have preferred to sell the Egyptian midfielder this summer but he still has 3years left in the contract he signed in March 2018. All the clubs that picked interest in the player want a loan deal, the club met with the player and reached an agreement to send him to Turkey on loan. He will be playing for Besiktas for the rest of the season and the club will be responsible for paying the majority of his £50,000 a week wages.
