Asisat Oshoala was among the goals for Barcelona Femeni in their 3-1 win over Tenerife in the Spanish Primera Iberdrola on Saturday.
The Super Falcons captain had been without a goal since scoring in the 4-0 win over Madrid on October 26, but was on hand to score the opener in the routine win for the Blaugranes.
Just 17 minutes in, Marta Torrejon brought a lovely over-the-top pass under control before rolling the ball across goal for Oshoala to finish into an empty net for the game’s opener at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
The first half saw just a goal despite the numerous chances Luiz Cortes’ team had to increase their tally. In the 61st minute, the visitors however pulled level through Aleksandra Zaremba’s goal.
With just a quarter of an hour to go in the game, Barcelona found two goals to turn the game on its head. Caroline Hansen restored the lead for the hosts in the 77th minute before Alexia Putellas directed a cross home in the 83rd minute to hand Barcelona a two-goal lead and thereby seal the win.
The victory takes Barcelona five points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid in the Primera Iberdrola and ultimately sees them end the year 2019 as league leaders.
The former FC Robo striker has now scored eight goals in 12 league appearances this season.
