Former Nigeria youth international, Chidera Ejuke has won the U-21 Player of the Month award for September, an acknowledgement of his impressive performances for his side, Heerenveen in the Eredivisie.
The 21-year-old former Gombe United winger joined De Superfriezen on a four-year-deal from Norwegian club Valerenga earlier in the summer but has taken quickly to the Dutch top flight, scoring three goals in the month of September.
Known for his versatility and trickery, Ejuke has completed 76% of his attempted dribbles this term (4.6 per game)—the highest in the league this season.
In addition to the young player’s accolade, Ejuke was also named in the ‘Team of the Month’, being the only player from Heerenveen to make the team.
He is joined in the team by Nicolas Tagliafico, Daley Blind, Quincy Promes and Joel Veltman all from Ajax, Calvin Stengs and Marco Bizot from AZ Alkmaar, Ajdin Hrustic (FC Groningen), Mauro Junior (Heracles), Denzel Dumfries and Donyell Mallen from PSV.
