Nigeria U-20 midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru finally made his debut for Watford in their thrilling 3-3 draw against League One side Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The 20-year-old opened the scoring early on in his first appearance for the club to kick-start his Watford career.
Dele-Bashiru scored via a sensational strike in the 12th minute before Nathaniel Chalobah made it 2-0 two minutes later. Shortly before half-time, Roberto Pereyra fired home a third goal for the Premier League side in a one-sided first half at Vicarage Road.
After the restart, Connor Jennings headed home to reduce the deficit in the 69th minute before Emmanuel Monthe’s shot in the 78th minute brought the visitors within one goal of Nigel Pearson’s men.
In an unexpected turn of events, Paul Mullin drew the visitors level from the spot in the 87th minute, before Pereyra was dismissed a minute before the end of the game.
Dele-Bashiru featured for the entire duration of the game, which is his first game for the Hornets since joining in the summer after the expiration of his contract at Manchester City.
