Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis has been called up to the Nigeria senior national team for the September 10 friendly against Ukraine in Dnipro.

The 21-year-old, who has scored once in four matches this season for the reigning Belgian champions, comes into the fold in place of Monaco’s Henry Onyekuru, who was forced to pull out due to an ongoing residency permit application.

Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo was excused on similar grounds, while Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa and Tyronne Ebuehi have all recused themselves on the grounds of injury.

Dennis, who featured for the Nigeria under-23 side in a CAF Under-23 AFCON qualifier against Libya in March, is therefore in line for a full international debut on Tuesday.
