Heracles Almelo striker Cyriel Dessers has pledged his international future to Nigeria, days after confirming there had been talks between him and the NFF.
The recently crowned Eredivisie Player of the Month for November was born in Belgium and is eligible to play for Nigeria through his mother.
“After a series of discussions with the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick. I have decided to fully commit myself to Nigeria and the Super Eagles,” Dessers told NFF Media.
“I am going to be part of the team and fight for the country. I am a proud Nigerian, and I can’t wait to fulfil my dream of wearing the green white green.”
“There’s already been contact with the NFF. After the match against ADO Den Haag an official from Nigeria sent me a message that I was doing well.”
The 24-year-old, who has been in stunning form for Heracles this season, has scored 11 goals from 15 games to be Eredivisie’s top scorer so far this term.
