Oghenekaro Etebo is set to return for the Potters in their boxing day clash against Sheffield Wednesday for the first time since October according to coach Michael O’Neill.
The Super Eagles midfielder has played just 11 Championship matches this season, while missing Stoke City’s last 10 games due to injury and illness. He has however returned to training ahead of their match against the Owls who occupy the third place position in the Championship table.
Stoke City will be seeking for a win and hope to better their position on the standings as they sit bottom of the table. In the Manager’s fitness update, he stated:
“First of all on Friday night we had the issue of Ryan Woods and Peter Etebo both being ill,” O’Neill said in a pre-match conference.
“Peter (Etebo) and Ryan were back in training over the weekend and trained with the squad today, as did Ryan Shawcross.”
Stoke City fans will be hoping Etebo can inspire the team back to winning ways after losing their last two matches and mustering just five wins all season.
