The sudden poaching of his two assistants by Premier League club Tottenham has left Lille boss Christoph Galtier uncertain of the possibility the club can retain Victor Osimhen until the summer.
The Nigeria international has been quite the find for Les Dogues this season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions while assisting three more. His level of performance has inevitably led to speculation about his future at Stade Pierre Mauroy.
Galtier, when asked by BeIN Sport about the prospect that his star striker could leave as early as the winter transfer window, said “Will Victor Osimhen stay until the end of the season? Yes, I believe so.
“But in football, nothing is safe. I can confirm this with regard to the weeks I have just spent,” an obvious reference to the departures of Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos.
Lille will on Tuesday travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in Matchday 6 of the UEFA Champons League, in the knowledge they are already eliminated. Osimhen has scored two of the French side’s three goals in the competition so far.
