Jean- Philippe Gbamin is set to face three months on the sidelines with an injury. The 23-year old midfielder who got signed in the summer for a fee in the region of £25million for Everton was hit by an injury during training.
The ivory coast midfielder featured in two opening league games for the Toffees, but he could not play on Friday against Aston Villa after sustaining an injury that is described as “significant” injury in training. “It is more significant than expected,” said the manager Marco Silva. “and he will be out for some weeks” he added speaking after the Villa defeat.
The Ivory Coast player will go through a series of tests this week and the worst-case scenario is 12 weeks out, he said. He is hoping that there will be no need for surgery. However, the Club hopes he returns in 8 weeks (2 months).
The Club signed both Fabian Delph and Jean-Phillppe Gbamin in the summer to fill the void left by Idrissa Gueye who moved to Paris Saint Germain.
