Bayern Munich’s emerging star Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly caught the attention of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
According to France Football , Rohr has been dazzled by the professional debut of the young Bavarian striker. The 66-year-old is expected to meet with him in order to discuss the possibility of pledging his international future to the three-time African champions.
Zirkzee, 18, was born to a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother in the Netherlands, and is a member of the Netherlands U-19 side. He joined Bayern Munich from Feyenoord’s youth team set-up in 2019 and went on to score a hat-trick on his debut for Bayern’s reserve team, Bayern Munich II.
In December 2019, Bayern boss Hans-Dieter Flick handed him his professional debut against Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League. On his league debut seven days after, he gave Bayern a 2-1 lead against Freiburg shortly after coming on, before Serge Gnabry put some gloss on the scoreline.
Since his debut, Zirkzee has made six appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals for the Bavarians.
