Forward Odion Ighalo scored the winner for Shanghai Shenhua as they edged Dalian Yifang 2-1 in a comeback win in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
Dalian Yifang got the opening goal in the first 60 seconds of the game through Yannick Carrasco before Giovanni Moreno drew Shanghai Shenhua level in the 25th minute.
Seven minutes before the break, Ighalo stabbed home a cross from Cao Yunding to give his side the lead for the first time going into the break. It was the former Watford man’s first goal since returning from a long-term injury.
Shanghai Shenhua held on to record their second win on the bounce. They are now placed 11th on the Chinese Super League log with 30 points from 26 matches.
The former Nigerian international has now scored eight goals from 13 appearances in the Chinese Super League this term, with this being his first in over three months.
Ighalo, 30, won the Golden Boot award at the 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt, scoring five goals as Nigeria claimed a third place finish.
