IWOBI ENDEARS HIMSELF TO EVERTON FAITHFUL ON HOME DEBUT

Forward Alex Iwobi got a goal for Everton in the 3-2  win over Wolves in the Premier League game at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

After opening his goal account against Lincoln City in the League Cup for the Toffees, Iwobi followed up with his first league goal on his full debut for the side.

The game began in a frenetic fashion, producing three goals in the opening 15 minutes. Richarlison gave the home side the lead in the five minutes in after a poor clearance by Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio struck Moise Kean and fell into his path, and he finished brilliantly. However, the lead lasted just four minutes, as the visitors were level through Romain Saiss’ neat finish from close range.

In the 12th minute, Iwobi headed home a Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cross to restore Everton’s lead, coming in at the far post to plant the ball past Patricio’s despairing dive.

The pace of the game noticeably slowed until after the half-time break, when the visitors went all out in search of a leveller. Mexican striker Raul Jimenez thought he had snatched a point for Wolves in the 75th minute with a header of his own but Richarlison stepped up to head home his second of the afternoon to take all three points for Marco Silva’s side.
