Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode notched two goals in the Turkish Super Lig for Gazişehir in their 4-1 thrashing of Gençlerbirliği on Monday.
The former Manchester City and Girona forward made his debut for the newly-promoted side in the opening day 5-0 away loss to Fenerbache last weekend.
However, in his first home game of the season, Kayode scored a first-half double to set the tone for the huge win, dispatching a penalty in the 40th minute after initially putting them ahead in the 32nd minute.
After the break, Guray Vural and Oguz Ceylan scored either side of Gençlerbirliği’s Berat Ayberk to complete the rout for the home side.
Kayode moved to Gazisehir Gazianyep FK on a season-long loan in the summer from Shakhtar Donetsk, after a troubled time with the Ukranian Champions. The 26-year-old will hope to continue this good start as he looks to earn a return to the Super Eagles set-up
