Super Eagles striker Josh Maja has admitted that he hopes to return to the Premier League and play for Arsenal in the years to come.
The forward, who spent his formative years as a footballer in England, turning out for the likes of Crystal Palace, Fulham and Sunderland has stated that Arsenal, the club he supported as a boy would be his preferred destination if he were to return to the Premier League.
Maja appeared in over 40 matches for Sunderland, scoring 17 goals before joining Ligue 1 outfit Girondins de Bordeaux in January of 2019.
Since joining Bordeaux, Maja has been impressive, racking up eight goals and three assists in just 30 appearances.
However, for the 21-year-old forward, playing for Arsenal would be a dream come true.
“Obviously, growing up in London, one of my dreams is to play in the Premier League,” Maja said in an interview with BeIN Sports. “Hopefully in the future, that opportunity will come.
“My team is Arsenal, so hopefully one day I’ll get the opportunity to play for them. If not, then I’ll keep supporting them anyway.”
