Manchester United falters Against Southampton

Manchester United failed to capitalise on Chelsea and Leicester City’s loss over the weekend as they missed out on an opportunity to go third with a 2-2 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford.

Ole Solskjaer’s men were a minute away from three points and a top 3 spot after matchday 35 but couldn’t hold their nerves as the race for top 4 heats up with 3 games left in the current campaign.

Man Utd started the game badly as Stuart Armstrong was the beneficiary after Paul Pogba’s error led to The Saints drawing first blood. The Red Devils stepped up their game as Marcus Rashford & Anthony Martial put the home team ahead.

But all their hard work was to be undone as they were reduced to 10men after Brandon Williams picked up an injury and Micheal Obafemi scored in the nick of time to snatch two points from United and send them back to 5th position on the league table.
