The super eagles of Nigeria have moved up to their best position in Africa in 5 years, they climbed to number 3 in Africa after a scintillating performance at the recently completed AFCON held in Egypt. This new position has moved them to the 33rd position in the world.

Senegal remains the number  1 team in Africa according to FIFA rankings, even though they lost 1 nil to newly crowned African champions Algeria at the just concluded AFCON competition. They are number 22 on the world stage.

Tunisia who lost 1 nil to Nigeria sits in the second position in Africa and 29th position in the world FIFA ranking, Morocco is sitting at the 4th position in the Africa rankings. While the champion of the Africa Cup of Nations climbs to the 12th position in the FIFA Africa raking and moved up to the 40th in the world FIFA ranking.
