NIGERIA RECORDS SECOND DEFEAT AT THE 2019 FIBA MEN’S WORLD CUP

Nigeria lost to Argentina at the on-going 2019 FIBA Men’s World Cup in a game that ended 94-81 at the Wuhan Sports center on Monday morning.

Nigeria’s D’Tigers struggled to match up the against Argentines in the first quarter of the game when the first quarter ended  28 -17 in the favor of Argentina.

At the half, the D’Tigers came back strong as they ended the half in a tie, with Okogie make 10 points for the team.

In the 3rd quarter of the game, the Nigerian team could not hold the heat as the Argentines took over the lead by 72-61 in less than six minutes to end the game. The Nigerians had 68 points while Argentines were with 78 points and in less than three minutes remaining to conclude the game, the Nigerians cut the deficit to eight.

 Alex Nwora, Benjamin Uzoh, Josh Okogie, Jordan Al-Farouq Aminu and Ike Diogu were unchanged from the line -up from the last game’s loss to Russia.

The Nigerian team will face Korea in their last game in group B on Wednesday, September 4, at the Wuhan sports center.
