Nigeria’s 4x100m men’s team have been given a leeway by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAAF) to participate at the upcoming World Athletics Championships starting in Doha on the 27th of September.
With the qualifying period for the relays spanning from 7th March, 2018, to 6th September, 2019, Nigeria’s 4x100m men’s team did not occupy any spot among the Top 10 from the 2019 IAAF World Relays and Top 6 from the current fastest times.
However, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria got a bit of respite when the IAAF confirmed that the country’s 4x100m men’s team have been admitted to compete at the global Championships.
This means that the quintet of Divine Oduduru (9.86), Raymond Ekevwo (9.96), Usheoritse Itsekiri (10.02), Seye Ogunlewe (10.11) and Enoch Adegoke (10.12) will be the athletes to represent Nigeria as they boast the fastest times this year.
Also, the women’s 4x100m and 4x400m team have qualified for the Championships after meeting the qualification standards.
