Nigeria internationals Stephen Odey and Paul Onuachu were among the goals for Genk in Tuesday’s 3-0 win over KSK Ronse in the Belgian Cup.
Odey, 21, has struggled for game time since joining the club, but opened the scoring here for The Smurfs. Onuachu, on the other hand, has been in good form recently, having scored twice in two previous starts prior to this latest strike.
After a goalless first half, Odey broke the deadlock in the 58th minute. Bryne Heynan then made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 71st minute, before beanpole striker Onuachu added a third eight minutes from time.
The opener was Odey’s first goal since joining Genk in the summer, while Onuachu has increased his season tally to three goals.
Felice Mazzu’s Genk will face Sint-Truidense in the Belgian Pro League at the weekend, with both forwards hoping to feature after their performances in the cup competition.
