Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode gave a remarkable performance in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday to lead his side Gaziantep GK to a 3-0 win over Kayserispor.
The Ibadan-born forward scored twice and assisted another in a second-half rush, as his side return to winning ways for the first time in nine games.
Having seen a goalless hour of football, Gaziantep took the lead in the tight encounter seven minutes after. Kayode flicked a long ball sent to him into the path of Guray Vural, who then calmly slotted home for the game’s opening goal.
In the 72nd minute, Kayode made it 2-0 to the home side, sliding home a low cross from Bartlomiej Pawlowski. Late in the game, the former Manchester City man converted a spot-kick to round up the win for Marius Sumudica’s side.
The win moves his side into the tenth position with 20 points after 11 games played.
Kayode, who is on loan from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, has scored five league goals and provided four more assists so far this season.
