Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka powered home a rebound in the second half as his side Slavia Prague earned a 1-1 draw at Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Olayinka featured for Sparta in the Europa League last season, playing nine games without finding the back of the net. In his maiden Champions League appearance for Slavia, the 23-year-old got his first European goal against the Italian giants in San Siro.

Slavia Prague dominated possession in the opening half, while at the same time largely keeping the hosts at bay. After the restart, the visitors continued to play on the front foot, and deservedly went ahead in the 63rd minute through Olayinka’s emphatic finish after Samir Handanovic’s initial save.

The Czech champions came close soon after to doubling their lead, but  the sudden jolt seemed to rouse Inter. The Nerazzuri would eventually get an equalizer late on – in the second minute of added time. Stefano Sensi’s free-kick came off the crossbar, but Nicolo Barella was on hand to bundle home from close range to earn the home side a point.

Olayinka has now scored three goals from seven appearances for Prague this season.
