Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka scored the only the goal of the game as Slavia Prague beat Mlada Boleslav on Saturday to maintain their unbeaten start to the 1. Liga this season.
The league leaders went ahead just 14 minutes into the contest. A low cross from Lukas Masopust found Olayinka near the penalty spot and he emphatically finished into the top corner. Slavia took the lead into the break.
After the restart, Prague held onto their lead, but Mlada Bolesav were presented an opportunity to draw level in the 90th minute from the penalty spot, only for Prague goalie Ondrej Kolar to deny Lukas Budinsky and preserve all three points for the defending champions.
Olayinka featured for 89 minutes before Jaroslav Zeleny came on to replace him.
The 23-year-old has now scored three league goals for Prague this season. His attention will now turn to Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Dortmund, having scored on the opening match day against Inter Milan.
