Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala was among the goals for Barcelona Femeni as they thumped Minsk Women 5-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 16 tie.
Oshoala, who scored the winner against Huelva Women in the Spanish Primera Iberdrola on Sunday, once again grabbed a goal for herself at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Thursday.
Oshoala was set up by Caroline Hansen to score the opener, side-footing the latter’s cross into the net after just six minutes. Martha Torrejon headed home a second in the 20th minute from Hansen’s corner.
Two minutes later, they made it 3-0. Oshoala’s well timed cut-back was dispatched calmly by Bonmati Aitana. Bonmati then got her brace in the 26th minute to end the game as contest before the half hour mark.
At the hour mark, Oshoala was replaced by Jenifer Hermoso, who went on to add a fifth goal in the 85th to give the Spanish league leaders a 5-0 first leg lead.
Oshoala has now scored in three consecutive games for Lluis Cortes’ ladies, but this was her first goal in the European competition this term.
