Victor Osimhen continued his dazzling home form for Lille, scoring another goal as Les Dogues beat Angers 2-1 in Ligue 1 action on Friday night.
Fresh from scoring his first-ever senior international goal for the Super Eagles on Tuesday in the 2-2 draw against Ukraine, Osimhen started upfront for Christophe Galtier’s side and continued his rich vein of form since joining in the summer.
Despite having seen little of the ball in the game to that point, the 20-year-old put Lille ahead in the 39th minute. Jonathan Bamba’s powerful drive was parried into his path by Angers keeper Ludovic Butelle, and he was right there to tuck home the rebound.
Eight minutes after the restart, the impressive Brazilian, Luiz Araujo made it 2-0 in favour of the home side with a well taken finish from the right side. With three minutes left to play, Angers got a goal back through Stephane Bahoken’s effort but Lille held on for yet another win at Stade Pierre Mauroy.
Osimhen has scored in all of his three home games for his new side, helping them to a perfect home record in Ligue 1 this season.
Osimhen has now scored five goals in five league games for Lille this term.
