Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has been nominated for the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for September.
The 20-year-old has hit the ground running in France since joining Lille in the summer, scoring seven goals in his first nine league games. He was named the club’s player of the month for both August and September, receiving the latter award before kick-off in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Nimes.
Rennes teenage midfielder Eduardo Camavinga claimed the award for the month of August, polling 50% of total votes cast, but it was Osimhen who caught the eye in September, helping himself to two goals and two assists in five matches.
He is up against Algeria international Islam Slimani, who has been in impressive form for Monaco in the league, and Nantes defender Nicolas Pallois.
