There was almighty scare on Tuesday night as Nigeria international Victor Osimhen came off complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath during Lille’s Coupe De La Ligue win over Monaco.
The 20-year-old had put Les Dogues ahead in the 19th minute, but was substituted four minutes later, and was immediately taken to hospital.
However, Lille manager Christoph Galtier moved to allay any fears regarding the welfare of the club’s star forward.
“Victor experienced dizziness and some pain and was taken to hospital. We just got news that everything is back to normal. We talked with him and he’s fine now,” he revealed on Wednesday.
Osimhen however spent the night under close observation at the hospital, and is set to remain for a further 24 hours.
