Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu was among the goal scorers for Genk in their 4-2 comeback win over Oostende in Saturday’s Belgian First Division A action.
The 25-year-old made his 17th start of the season count by dispatching a second-half penalty to set them on their way to victory following last weekend’s defeat to league leaders Club Brugge.
Ooestende went in front through Fashion Sakala’s finish two minutes before the half-time interval, but in the first minute of stoppage time, they were reduced to 10 men when Louis Verstraete was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
Upon the restart, Genk were back on level terms via Onuachu’s spot-kick inside three minutes. From then on, the away side began to dominate, maximizing their numerical advantage at Versluys Arena.
Three goals in the space of 11 minutes from Theo Bongonda, Junya Ito and Mats Moller Daehli put the game beyond the home side despite a consolation goal from Francois Marquet in the 76th-minute.
Onuachu was on for the duration of the game as Genk clinched their 13th win of the season. Fellow Nigerian Joseph Akpala played 27 minutes for the losing side.
The former Midtjylland striker has now scored ten league goals for the Blue and White in 22 appearances so far this season.
