Nigeria international Olanrewaju Kayode scored twice in Saturday’s seven-goal thriller between his side Gaziantep FK and Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig.
The 26-year-old forward scored a brace last time out and returned to repeat the feat as his side earned a 4-3 win at Kasimpasa.
In a game that saw five goals in the opening 45 minutes, it was Kayode who set the ball rolling in the fifth, before Veysel Sari drew the hosts level five minutes later.
From then on it was all about the visitors, as Kayode turned provider for Kenan Ozer to restore his side’s lead in 21st minute. Papy Djilobodji made it 3-1 to the visitors three minutes after the half-hour mark.
Kayode, who was on the books of Manchester City back in 2017, scored a penalty a minute before the break to give his side a three-goal cushion before the break.
After the interval, Ricardo Quaresma and Mame Thiam scored in the 57th and 80th minute respectively to possibly ignite a comeback, but Marius Sumudica’s men held on for another win in the Turkish topflight.
The win moves Gaziantep FK into tenth position with 23 points after 16 games played so far this season.
Kayode, who is on loan from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, has now scored seven league goals and provided five more assists so far this term.
