FIFA have officially the Nigeria Under-17 national team squad list for the 2019 U-17 World Cup, which kicks off on the 26th of October in Brazil.
The Golden Eaglets, who have won the competition five times, are one of Africa’s four representatives, and will compete in Group B alongside Hungary, Australia and Ecuador.
Coach of the side Manu Garba, who guided Nigeria to victory in the 2013 edition, has made a number of changes to the squad that finished fourth at the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in April. Of the 21 players that represented Nigeria in Tanzania earlier in the year, only 11 have made the cut for the World Cup.
The final squad is headlined by forwards Wisdom Ubani and Ibraheem Jabaar, who scored five goals between them during the qualification tournament.
Nigeria’s participation at the U-17 World Cup will commence against Hungary on October 26 at Estadio Olimpico in Goiania. The Golden Eaglets will then face South American side Ecuador at the same venue three days later, before taking on Australia in their final Group B game on November 1at Estadio Bezzerao in Brasilia.
