Nigeria forward Sadiq Umar scored twice as his Serbian side FK Partizan won 2-1 at FC Astana in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Having scored a brace last weekend against Radnicki Nis, Umar followed it up with another double in Europe’s second tier competition.
Sadiq grabbed the opener in the 29th minute, reacting quickest after the ball was deflected into his path to poke home. Partizan took that lead into the break.
Sadiq got his second of the evening in the 73rd minute. He won an aerial duel, picked himself up to receive the return ball from Bibras Natcho, checked inside the defender before firing past Astana goalkeeper Nenad Eric.
With just five minutes left to play, Astana reduced the deficit through Sigurjonsson but it proved only a consolation as Partizan held on to win by the odd goal.
Sadiq, endured a torrid time at Rangers last season, barely getting any games under his belt, but he has been superb for the Serbian giants this season.
On a season-long loan deal from AS Roma, the lanky forward has now scored seven times in ten games so far this term.
