Nigeria international Simeon Nwankwo was on target for Crotrone, scoring the only goal in their 1-0 win over Pisa on Tuesday night.
Simy’s late strike was enough to secure victory for the Pythagoreans and move them up to third on the Serie B table.
The Super Eagles striker has been in fine form this season, netting thirteen (13) times so far this season.
The match seemed destined to finish goalless until a red card to Pisa’s Francesco Belli in the second minute of added time upped the stakes at the death.
The winner then came two minutes later as Nwankwo, assisted by Mateo Musacchio, scored to decide proceedings.
Simy, 27, completed two tackles and three clearances, showing a defensive side to his game.
The 1.98m tall forward also showed his aerial prowess winning five (5) of six (6) aerial duels, while getting off five (5) shots during the course of the match.
Crotone’s next league match, scheduled to hold on Saturday, is away to Venezia.
