Sporting Club de Huelva have confirmed the signing of midfielder Peace Efih from Nigeria Women’s Football League side Edo Queens in a one-year deal.
The Club announced the 18-year-Old’s arrival on Tuesday, with the Nigerian becoming the fifth signing in the last two weeks. Ghana Striker Princella Adubea also joined the Huelva-based side in the ongoing transfer window.
Head coach Antonio Toledo spoke highly of the young Nigerian.
“She is a midfielder with a lot of travel [experience], has a good vision of the game and is easily incorporated into the finishing positions,” he told the club’s official website.
Toledo also expressed his belief in her adaptability: “Being in this new city, [she] can be an important player for us this campaign.”
An excited Efih also spoke to the club’s media about her move to Europe.
“I am looking at a greater challenge playing against talented players from different continents week after week. I have the opportunity to improve my game, grow my football career and be better in everything; I also think I can help the team to improve.”
The midfielder had an impressive outing with the Falconets at the 2018 Under-20 Women’s World Cup as they reached the Round of 16. She will team up with her new side in August before the season gets underway in September.
