Austrian side FC Wacker Innsbruck have announced the signing of 2018 CHAN Eagles forward Sunday Faleye on a two-year-deal, with an option for an additional year.
The First League side announced the arrival of the 20-year-old via the club’s official twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon.
“We welcome Sunday Faleye a young Nigerian National team player! Welcome to Innsbruck, Sunday!” the tweet read.
Innsbruck’s Sporting director Alfred Hörtnagl also spoke highly about the young forward.
“With Sunday (Faleye), we managed to steer a very interesting and talented player to the Tivoli. In the training and test match against Dynamo Dresden, he showed where his strengths lie.
“He is a fast player with qualities in one-on-one situations and variable on offence. We are very happy that we were able to inspire Sunday for our new, young path. We are very happy that we were able to get Sunday to be part of our new project,” Hörtnagl concluded.
Faleye signs from fellow Austrian club Altach – where he scored three goals in eleven games since he underwent surgery on the elbow injury he sustained in Morocco last year.
The former Shooting Stars lad is in line to make his league debut when the Green and Black face Vorwӓrts Steyr in their season opener on Friday.
