Inter Milan have confirmed that Victor Moses will spend some time on the sidelines due to a muscle injury.
The former Super Eagles star was on for the entire 90 minutes in the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 UEFA Europa League victory over Ludogorets at the San Siro last Thursday, earning them progression into the competition’s round of 16.
However, Moses was examined on Monday and it has been confirmed he has a muscle injury, with the time-frame for his return uncertain.
“Victor Moses underwent medical tests at the Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano this morning, with an MRI scan on his left thigh,” the statement reads.
“Results showed a strained muscle, with the player’s condition to be reassessed in the coming days.”
With this confirmation, the wing-back is ruled out of Thursday’s Coppa Italia return leg tie against Napoli, as Inter Milan hope to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg at San Siro some weeks ago.
Moses, 29, struggled for form this season before the termination of his loan spell at Fenerbahce, before joining Antonio Conte’s side in January.
Moses, who won the 2013 AFCON with Nigeria, has featured in just seven games across all competitions for the Italian side so far.
