Premier League side Watford have announced the signing of Nigeria Under-20 international Tom Dele-Bashiru on a six-year deal, following the expiration of his contract with English champions Manchester City.
Dele-Bashiru made his senior debut for City in a cameo appearance in the League Cup quarter-final against Leicester City in 2017/18, coming on for Phil Foden in the 91st minute.
The Manchester-born midfielder also confirmed he has joined the hornets shortly after the club announced his signature.
“I am very happy to announce the new chapter in my career, can’t wait to get started and play in front of you amazing fans of Watford FC,” Dele-Bashiru tweeted.
The 19-year-old midfielder has represented both England and Nigeria at youth level. He scored for the Flying Eagles of Nigeria against Qatar at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in May.
He becomes the club’s second signing this summer after Craig Dawson, who moved to Vicarage Road from West Bromwich Albion.
